Sorry to hear about this. Wish I could be of help here. If you can't turn it you're probably doing the next best thing, pulling the cover. You don't want to heat the gear inside the cover, and I'm not even sure you should heat the gear at all as it may change the temper and cause premature failure of the gear down the road.
It'll probably come loose immediately when you pull it out and can get it it easily.

Man I would love to but there is really nothing inside of it. I took it completely apart and found nothing but metal shavings it was totally smoked.. Let me tell you this when I tear it up it is normally never usable again they will not even take it for a core....

I have to replace my VP44 because it seems to be on its way out. The truck looses power when driving and I have to push the clutch in and let the engine slow to an idle, then it works fine for a short period of time when I go to drive. I was just curious what I will find when I take mine apart. I assume it does come apart easily??? Will I not be able to return it for a core at all if I take it apart? I am hoping to find some part worn that I can repair. Doubtful, but I have to see for myself.

I am sure I will end up using it for a core. But, I just have to take it apart to see inside. I am sure you understand since you took yours apart.

That is not the problem everyone that I have talked to about rebuilding the pumps said that if it was taken apart and put back together that they would not accept it but ohh well I guess just try it and see...Good Luck

Well, I tried my best to take my VP44 apart. I thought the hardware was tamper proof torx. After running out to Sears to buy a set and coming home to dig into it I quickly discovered that Bosch uses something similar but torx will not work.

The problem with shops rebuilding the pumps is that they have to be timed by an electronic eye on a bench. Since this machine usually runs in excess of 90k. Most do not see the need to buy one.
