please help wont start

My truck wont start or actually it started but shut off right away a friend told me to put a salamander heater under it and I did and nothing yet. He says its ice in the fuel line could this be it. I didnt use any antigel or anything cause Ive been following the manual. I have the 04 1/2 dodge cummins. I was plowing till late last night and it was plugged in all night long. Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I live in jersey so it is cold now. I have to get to work.
Thanks Don

More info , how cold is it , do you know what kind of fuel your getting #1 ,#2 or a blend it should say on the pump, if it is gelded fuel than put about 1 gal. for every 20 in tank of keroseen , as for heat to warm up fuel and lines any form of uncontrold heat could cause many other problums, to heat up lines I would go to a hardware or pluming supply and get heat tape and start from the injector pump and as far as you can get easy access to and plug it in for a few hours . good luck ,

It should work its way through the tank but I dont think it would make it though the fuel lines, as for causing problums make sure that you donot mix it more than 10% I have been hearing about this for about 20+ yrs. and seen it talked about on this site also. about heating the lines like I said heat tape or auto parts store a magnetic heater maybe $15 to 30 you will find many uses for these later , what about the fuel in the truck now ? what mix or not. I will be here on the site for a while.

Change the filter and refill it with a cold weather additive instead of diesel. Like the other guys said, try to get the truck warm somehow.

You need to drain your filter once every other fill, and keep you tank full also.

You are not driving a gasser any more.
