Angry Plate Light Issue - New Bumper

I have a new rear replacement bumper and just tried to wire in the Liscense Plate Lights! No luck. The lights do not work and the driver side rear tail light went out. I tried the blinker and the brake light the lights still work just not staying on. Any solutions?

What year truck do you have? On my 2000, I cut the wires on the factory license lights between the light and where it plugs into the main harness and soldered them to the new lights on the bumper.

I have a 2006. The lights that came with the bumper has one wire. The harness from the old light has a white and black wire. I tried wiring seperately and running one to ground but no lights still.

Did you make sure your bumper has a good ground? On the truck in my sig the old lights went out and i bought new ones and i had to solder a ground to the metal casing on each and then connect the positive wire and then they worked and i havn't had an issue yet.

On mine, I wired the hot wire from the truck to the light, then attached the ground wire from the truck to the bumper. The light grounds itself to the bumper.

Always a possibility of damaging the TIPM when playing with light wiring on the new rigs. Star Scan may tell you if the drivers have been disabled.
