P1693 Code Question

hey ya'll I gota 2000 2500 and was headin home sunday on cruise at 70 and headin up a hill and it sounded like a dead miss and happened twice and pulled off the to the side of the interstate and she died. she would start no problem and run for bout 5-10 sec then die out. just had the fuel filter changed out and air filter changed bout a month ago, fuel pump ran just fine so she was gettin fuel. The shop called earlier and they hooked it up to the computer and it gave a code "P1693 Mil Fault in Companion Module JTech Controller (PCM)" I went and picked the truck up and now it runs just fine, what the hell fire could have caused this and does anyone know that code in simple terms? thanks for ya'll help!!

From my prior experience it is normally a bad connection. Or it could just be a computer glitch. Most likely a glitch. A chip will sometimes glitch the PCM.

P1693 is just a companion code. It appears to let you know there are codes stored in the computer, doesn't mean anything else when it shows by itself. I had it on monday, along with po234 and po237. I apparently exceeded the amount of boost the computer likes to see. I cleared the codes and they have not showed up since.

That's strange you didn't have any other codes with those symptoms. Sounds like it may be the vp getting ready to take a crap?

I've been having the same problem, I've sort of thought it was my throttle position sensor (is it the APPS??). Always seems to happen when I'm coasting down hill in a high gear. Right after I got my truck I had sorta the same problem coasting down hill with cruise control, I quit using cruise.
