Oil pressure woes...

The wierdest thing happened the other day. While driving through a neighborhood at around 25 mph I suddenly lost all of my oil pressure. Within 2 seconds it came back and all was fine. Then about 2 days ago, everytime I start my truck my oil pressure jumps from normal to zero like 5 or 6 times then is ok. Anyone else have this problem? Im kind of afraid to drive it due to this.

Replace the sending unit. You should be good to go.

Don't buy a sender unit from dodge like I did. Out the door for $207.00..... Why are parts so expensive these days. A few years ago the sender would have been $10....

Buy it from Cummins, about $60
Don't use an autoparts aftermarket sender, they don't last.
A $10 sender socket from the autoparts makes the job easy.

Item Number 5012991ab

Price $71.10

SENSOR OIL PRESSURE

I just ordered one for my '99 3500. It is easily removed using a 1 1/4" Deep Well socket.

I hope that this is the right one!!! I got the part # from Shovelhead, so it should be good!
