i cant make any kind of diagnosis with the part being called the step pump. sorry i cant help. sounds like oil pouring out of the breather tube due to injectors dumping fuel. you said there is no oil in the engine, is there any form of liquid on the dipstick? it may be diesel. you gotta get more(correct) info from the tech.

I don't see how they could tie a performance box to an oil leak, unless it windowed the block or something.

As far as doing your own oil change, I could see that being a problem if they found the leak caused by leaving the previous filter O-ring stuck to the oil filter bracket, or something else like that...

I also have no idea what "step pump" might be?

I did remove the box before I got towed. should I have them check the cyclinders and pistons. what else should they check while the truck is there for three plus days.

Well it wasn't the injection pump now I have to wait for a injector to come. This is just great am i ever going to get out of barstow. Lets put our heads together and figure out what would dump so much fuel in my motor to cause the oil level to get so high to make in dump out the relief value.

As stated earlier, it sounds like you possibly have an injector dumping fuel into the crankcase. Only other possiblity I can think of, woud be antifreeze dumping into the crankcase due to a blown head gasket or warped head. Definitely get the mechanic to check the dipstick or remmove the drainplug and swipte the hole to see if you have diesel fuel or coolant in your crankcase. This will help you to narrow down the possibilities. Sorry, but these mechanics don't seem to know their heads from a hole in the ground! Hang in there!
