Re:OH NO..

Sounds like a small stone trapped between the rotor and the brake dust/mud shield, if you are lucky. Can make an awful sound that makes you think $$$, but just pry it with screwdriver and stone falls out. Worth a look.

Re:OH NO..

My bet is that the snap ring on your transfer case has gone bad if your truck is a 4x4. There was a thread on this about a month or so ago. Try doing a search and maybe it will yield some info about it. Good Luck!

Re:OH NO..

well i finally got my truck back ;D
one of the bearings went out and took my gears with it
found big chunks of metal from the gears
the brake pads were broken in half
so i went and found a used dana 80
and put it in and had to replace the seals and bearings, brakepads, drained the oil out of the 80 and put in fresh oil in
and i was good to go
its running nice
i need to check the oil when i get home and look for leaks
but i have my truck ;D

Re:OH NO..

it wasnt too bad..
for new guts (bearings,gears,etc..) for my old 70
if would have costed $1350 just for the parts
i got the dana 80 axel for $850 brakepads $50 bearings and seals for $100 so my axel came out to around $1000
and plus i now have upgraded my rear axel ;D
