Whatever you do, DO NOT buy a rebuid from a chain tranny shop, because they specialize in auto trannys & just replace the old one with a rebuild from some warehouse. I did that & they sold me a rebuild that lasted 20,000 miles, then gave me a 2nd rebuilt that lasted 30,000 miles. I finally found a guy who specialized in rebuilding manual trannys by hand. That one is still running strong.
