my 98 24valve no mods just died like you turned key off son is driving it at college he is 2hrs away the lift pump is pumping with good pressure cracked #1 inj line and cranked it over not one drop of fuel is there a fuel shut off solenoid similar to 12 valves or is it all computer controlled

 

sounds like a classic case of the vp44 going to hell. you would have to pull codes to be sure.
