i had to turn the key to on the lift up the lever till it clicked then it finally started
and its been work great since

but i have a backup relay in my glovebox now

You have an air leak somewhere, I think. Use a 12v compressor and a rag to pressurize the tank. You may hear the air leak.
Make sure that the fuel solenoid is pulling up, as suggested.

Don't exceed 10 psi or you may rupture the fuel tank. It will be hard to exceed even 5 psi with just a rag wrapped around a blow gun.

I had a similar problem before and couldn't seem to bleed out the air. So I cracked open an injection line as recommended above and kept the "gas" peddle to the floor while cranking. It did start but ran really rough for about 20 seconds then all was good. I don't know if thats what you are supposed to do but it worked for me.

Sidewinder's method has worked for me numerous times when fuel systems haven't been bled completely. Just make sure you have good batteries then crank the snot out of it, pedal to the floor with half the injectors cracked open. Tighten the injectors and try again with the pedal down. It should start but run rough for a few seconds.

Brother had his 2001 truck run out of fuel. A diesel tech that was at the Love's Truck stop put a rag with gas on it on the filter and it started up. Since nothing is working for ya worth a try. Hope you get her running.
