The Diesel Truck version of a TPS (throttle position sensor)
Accelerator pedal position sensor. Since you are not progressively opening a throttle on a carb., the truck has an APPS to to electrically decide where the pedal position is, like in relation to how fast you want to go kind of thing...?
Did that help?

Uh not started, but "bumped" as in, bump the ign. real quick. This will make the lift pump run for about 30 seconds. you shoudl be able to crack one of the banjo fittings on the pump or fuel filter to see if you have flow.
Chances are you don't.
Likely what has happened here is that your Lift Pump has died causing your Injection Pump (VP44) to be starved for fuel.
Cycle your key on,off,on,off on (not stated, on) you should see codes displayed in your odometer window.
When you see P0216, you will know without a doubt what your problem is.

This exact same thing happened to me on my way home from work today. As I was sitting at an intersection my truck idled up to about 1200 RPM and held. After I started driving again I was going along and all of the sudden it just lost power and went back to idle. Everything running fine but absolutely no throttle response.
I pulled over and called the tow truck. Was told it would be two hours. I killed the truck and started it a few times and on about the third start things went back to normal so I drove it home.
The engine light is still on and the code showing up is P2121. Anyone know what that means? I'm supposed to move in five days so I need to get this fixed ASAP.
Truck has 65,000 miles on it.
