Buzz from Accelerator pedal

Anyone getting a buzz from the accel pedal with the speed control engaged and engine speed around 2000 rpm? I saw a bulletin on the 98 model for this, but it looks like the cable is routed different on my '02. Any suggestions? ???

Re:Buzz from Accelerator pedal

Thanks for trying. There is a TSB for the '98 modle year TSB 14-04-98 but the cable routing looks different on my '02. Just thought I'd see if anyone else has this condition on the '02 models.

Mine does the same thing but I didnt worry about it. I thought it was just the fact that the pedal doesnt have pressure on it when cruise is engaged and the pedal doesnt move with the cruise either. If I lightly touch the pedal it goes away but usually I have the radio on. If you find a easy cure please let me know.

Re:Buzz from Accelerator pedal

Mine does it when cruise is engaged. To much of a bother to take it in, I just turn up the tunes instead. ;D

Re:Buzz from Accelerator pedal

I tnink the TSB you are referring to is the one about the 4wd lever spring. The spring must be bent with a prybar. The shifter does not have enough tension on it, and due to the harmonics of the engine the shifter rattles at about 2000rpm
I think in the tsb, the buzz from the throttle pedal is also mentioned

Rich

Re:Buzz from Accelerator pedal

There is a TSB out for this problem. I remember reading it, just can't remember where at the moment. The fix is just a very slight re-route and a piece of foam. I'm looking for the TSB, will post it when found, but there is one!

Re:Buzz from Accelerator pedal

I'll let you know this week. Mine does it, my wife's does not. The service manager told me there was a TSB, it was limited to 5spds, and would take 20 mins to correct - something about rerouting the throttle cable. He also said there was no long term damage caused by this. This guy is the only guy I trust in the Dodge world. I'm also going to have both truck ECMs reflashed and the cold weather enhancement enabled....wish me luck.

Re:Buzz from Accelerator pedal

Well mine did it too. Since I am too far away from my friendly Dodge dealer I just sprayed a bit of white grease on the pedal. ( Not on the rubber side where I rest my foot ;D )
Problem went away and comes back every 8 weeks or so. bzzzz- psshht- silence.

HTH

AlpineRAM
