I had hoped i would never have to use this section especially with only 4k on th odometer, but I got up this morning started the truck it went right to high idle i let it build oil pressure for a few minutes and started on my way. I usually shift into second or first for the ride to the main road to keep the rpms at 12 to 1500 to help the engine warm up. after a few minutes I put it in drive with OD off and drove about 10 minutes the engine was not fully warmed and i had to make a stop for about 15 minutes so i shut the truck off. when i came back i started on my way and had no OD. I stoped on the side of the road shut the truck down restarted still no OD I drove for about 1/2 hour that way made another short stop came back still no OD. As i was coming to a trafic light slowing down the truck almost stalled and i had a grinding noise as if it was stuck in gear (converter wouldnt unlock). I got to my last stop let the truck sit and came back had OD back but it still feels like the converter doesnt want to unlock fully and the shifts dont feel as firm as before all this. My 5 star dealer cant see me till the 29th. any ideas???? ???

 

I would say that you need to keep a wrecker service phone number handy. You don't need to put it in speed dial though. Personaly, I would be somewhat leary of driving it though. I also would not be too willing to touch it either......for warranty purposes. Sorry I don't have an answer, but I hope it isn't anything serious.

if you can get to the od selinoid ,if it is on the outside of the tranny maybe you could tap on it cause it sounds like it maybe jammed some how. if i was messing with it i would do it when its not running,if you get it to disengage then leave it til, your 5 star dealer can get to it.

Has it been wet uin your area recently as in rainy ??? If it has or you have gotten water in the area of some the 15 dollar connectors you may have water in one of them shorting it out. It is a quick fix for the dealer take it in and have them check it out. Tell them to check all the connectors btween the computer and the tranny. Mine went out the day i bought mine granted i did buy it used but it is a known problem good luck

well the truck has been at the deale r for 2 day. the way the service manager talked id didnt sound like they were to qualified over there. they said there were lots of error codes stored in the computers. All i gotta say is they better not scratch it...Ill keep you posted

 

dan i would suggest you get as much unfo as you can from them on what they do and how etc so you can check it against someone or group that knows what they are doing it sounds slippery. tell them you want to talk to the tech yourself.

 

well they spoke to the almighty STAR today apparently there is a TSB with reguards to a specific set of codes they are going to replace the ECM and wiring harness as soon as it comes in...Ill keep you posted
