no clutch pedal
no clutch pedal
hey guys on friday my 01 3500 5spd developed a clutch problem! as i was backing up a trailer slipping the clutch to get going ,the clutch engaged all the way on its own. had to kill it with the key . If i wait 10 seconds it feels like i have pedal but i dont ,but only 1 time, then it gos easy to the floor .clutch is holding just cant release it.what is prone to brake on the 5spds ??I have fluid and no leaks anywhere.?
Take the cap off the reservior and slowly press pedal about halfway and release it a couple of times. You may also have to tap it lightly about 1/2" a few times.
Sometimes the pushrod seal in the clutch master cyl will let in air. My G/F's truck gets a weak pedal after driving awhile, and the above process helps get the air out. Only works if the cap is off to let the air out. Its a 01 also.
It will need to be replaced before too long.
Re-check for leaks it may take a bit before it drips out of the bellhousing, if the slave cyl is blown.

Well it turned out to be the master and slave assembly . the only one I could find was from DC(formally MA MOPAR USA) $210 bucks the new system is 2 piece and was fluid filled I guess so we can change just the slave next round
