New South Bend Clutch

My stock clutch gave out at 179,000 miles. My good friend own a tranny shop and installed the new clutch for me today. Now I am facing a new issue. Before the new clutch I would have trouble shifting once in a while. It acted like it was grinding gears. Now with the SB Con O clutch you have to push the clutch all the way to the floor to shift or it will not shift into gear. My tranny guy says it has to be the hydraulic system. Current hydraulic system has fluid in it with no leaks. He says the hydraulic system is non adjustable. Any thought on this or suggestions......?? Thanks......

When I replaced mine, I had problems at first when shifting. I figured out that I wasn't depressing the clutch far enough. My fix was sliding my seat a tad forward. Hope it works out for you.

When replacing my tranny, I managed to break the ball-stud that the fork pivots on. I was having the same symptoms as you and it was caused by the fork pivoting on the bellhousing, rather than the ball stud. I bled the clutch a milliion times, but never saw the fork was out of whack because the rubber boot was in the way. Double check all the clutch fork geometry.

Thanks for the info, I will check that when we pull the tranny back out.... My hydraulic system is "Non bleedable" and comes sealed from the factory. Supposed to bleed it self....

A hydraulic system that is "Non bleedable" ???
Never heard of that, not say it is i may be out of date but there has to be away to bleed it. Or at least I would think so.
Just my two cents.

Any hydraulic system has to be " bleedable" to get the air out so it can function.

bleedable

System bleeds it self. Hydraulics come from Dodge as a sealed unit. Been there, done that....

Truck now shifts, but has hard shift. I can shift 1 through overdrive. But in order to get into reverse I have put it in overdrive then into reverse.

Cluth pedal feels good. Even if I push clutch pedal all the way to the floor I still have hard shifting.......
