It never ends!

Ok thought that pulling the banks 6-gun had worked. WRONG!!! Now it idols somewhat correctly and has no power at all! Could barely hold 50mph. I can lay into it and get nothing but the sound of a ****** off lawnmower. Codes its popping are as such... P0336 Crank shaft position (CKP) Sensor signal, P2149 Bank 2 (Cylinders 4-6) Shorted high or low, P0647 High Voltage detected at the A/C clutch relay. I have until Thursday to get it fixed to milk it from Maryland to Ohio so I can get it into the shop. I get layed off Thursday and home is Ohio. PLEASE anyone with a suggestion of a fix PLEASE let me know what you think! Shutting it off clearing the codes and starting it up helps a little, but the problem comes back soon there after!

hi
look closely at the wire from a/c clutch from compressor clutch to where it plugs in , there is a clamp to hold wire and it may have rubed through shorting out ?
also check crank position sensor wires for shorted rubbed area?
hope this helps ?

I posted this on your other thread and was curious if you had done what I suggested.

Most of the crank position sensor codes(that I have delt with) are thrown by one or more of the teeth on the plate behind the balancer being bent. This is the plate with notches that the CPS gets its' signal from.

With the injector codes I think bank 2 obviously means the middle plug for the injectors. Unplug it and look at the pins on both ends. I have seen one of the female pins(which is on the male plug) get pushed in and cause the same eratic idle your describing. The plug is easy to disassemble and get things back where they belong.

Also unplug and look at your MAP sensor. Sometimes they can get corrosion inside the plug that causes multiple problems.

Hope this helps.

well I looked over the a/c wire again and this time with an inspection mirror. Nothing wrong there. I looked over the plate with the notches and there is a space where 3 notches should be however there is no evidence that they were ever there. No pits, scrapes, jagged edges, nothing. It actually looks like there is paint where they should be, they do however match up with 2 holes in the outer lip of the HB. Im gonna try to post pics of this area. I will try to look over the middle plug tommorrow after work and see what I can come up with.

First let me qualify my experience.... I HAVE NONE...
I was reading in the book that the CAM Position Sensor has a gap of 3 or 4 teeth that indicates I BELIEVE TDC (top dead center) and I believe the picture you have there is of the CAM tone ring, only because I know the CAM tone ring is in front of the engine. I don't believe you can see the CRANK position sensor because its internal to the crankcase. my two cents.

the ring is supposed to have that gap in the teeth; your sensor picks up the gap and uses it for tach signal, ect. Did you notice any of the teeth actually bent over?

The gap in the teeth is OK. I just researched the same thing for a random crank and cam error. Does it smoke like crazy when you press the accelerator. Did you notice if the banks showed low or no turbo boost. Is the oil level above normal on the dipstick. I just had a similar event. The random crank codes were caused by a loose connector beneath the ABS module. The smoke, growling, loss of power and P2149 were caused by an injector that failed and diluted my oil resulting in a turbo failure.
