If it was me, and I've been there 3 times, I'd just drive it as close to home as it can make it. My last truck, 97 Ram w/360 gas, went through 3 trans. The first was exactly the same problem...stuck in first. The others were no reverse and once stuck in second. Anyways, the first time it was a planetary gear the came apart. The way I see it, your probably already looking at a rebuild, so just limp it along to get it as close to home as you can, or to a trans shop along the way that you trust. In all three instances, I made it home, then to a trans shop. All three times the trans needed rebuilt. Good luck!
