might be oil pressure sender or the oil pump, its not good if its that , i would not run it until you find out. There are plugs on the driverside of the engine to hook up an oil pressure gauge to check it manually.

My 04.5 went to 0 oil pressure when my oil got diluted from the fuel leaking thru the bad injector. Check your oil level and see if it is very high.

Good luck.

Install a mechanical at the L/O filter housing in the blank plug next to the turbo supply line. This will give an accurate measure of actual oil pressure. The plug on my 01 is 1/8", I ran a -4 aeroquip to a mechanical gauge in the cab, that way I know exactly what I am running.

You need an oil psi switch. $287.00 at the dealer. Cheaper ones can be found online.

oil pressure sending unit Cummins part # 4921511. $66 CDN right from cummins, retail for $87. Any cummins dealer can get them.

Also, Blue Streak PN PS407 is supposed to be the same thing, but I am not willing to order one to find out, so cummins it is.

5 minute install, pressure gauge is back to normal.
