Need advice on 04
Hello, I did the dumbest thing to date and traded in my 2000 ram for a little ford and now I regret it. I'm looking at trading for an 2004 ram quad shorty auto 4x4 with the mother of all engines. Can anyone tell me wether to stay away from this year and keep lokking or go ahead and buy it?
.....must be all that Grain Belt Premium!
I wouldn't have an probs with an 04. They still have od lockout unlike the 05 that went to "tow/haul" only.
The oil stays cleaner in them than the 05 on up.
good power and I hear good reports on mpg.
48re is a good auto trans if that's how it's equipped.

My 2004 305/555 has 72k miles and no problems to date.
I still have the factory Michelins on it (won't be long tho). My 62 mile commute to work @ 60-65 mph I average about 20 mpg. I'm still stock for at least another 28k miles, but it does all I ask it to do. Love my truck!!!!!!!!!!!!
