Have you verified that reading with a mechanical gauge? The sending units on these are bad about going out.

The shop should have had time to put a guage on it by now. Any news yet?

Pickup tube loose/cracked, relief valve jammed open, worn oil pump, diluted oil, worn bearings....

Probably easiest to check the relief first, top of filter base, pull plug and spring and check.

Don't think much else can go wrong with it. Low oil pressure usually means either bad gauge or pump. Might be cheaper to pull pan now than pull the engine later. IMO

Low pressure can also be a sign of bad crank bearings. If owner put wrong brgs in (doubtful) or didn't correctly torque bearing caps a loss of oil pressure will occur. That's probably worst case scenario though. Better bet is the check valve for the oil pump or a loose pickup tube as previously mentioned. Hopefully nothing from the oil filter came loose and stopped up the oil passages.

Another thing to look at it if the check valve doesn't work is if someone didn't clean the area around the pick up tube properly.
