Loss Of Power

ok, Ill try to explain what happened as best as I can, LOl, was cruising highway, all was running fine, then engine started losing power, kept pushing the pedal, cleared up, with a little black smoke rolling out for a second, ran fine for about 8 miles, and started doing it again, just losing power, like running out of fuel, but never died, coasted to a stop and idles, when you rev it, it is kinda slow rev, not like usual, exhaust sounds different, like a little louder, took off again, with it running bad, floor it and it creeps along, but can build up to 70 miles an hour with a little trailer behind me, at 70, egts are reading 120, engine tempo, tranny temps all fine, boost reads normal, blows more blask smoke going thru the gears up to speed, and at all it will give me, i can hear the injector rattle, but they are kinda like a lop[ing sound coming from them, three error codes, p0148-fuel delivery error, p0236-turbocharger boost pressure sensor performance/rationality, p2146- fuel injector group 1 supply voltage circuit,

stopped and changed my air dog fuel filter to see if my filter was bad, cranked it, revved okay, took it down the road and ran fine until i put the pedal down, kicked in fine, but then blew black smoke, and stlled down again to what it was doing before, for a few seconds, cleared up and ran fine again, until i punched it again, this time didnt clear up, back to orignal power loss, and thats where im at now, any help is muchly appreciated, oh 1 more thing, after i changed the filter, and ran it a dn it started doing it all agin, i was in park and revved it a little and the throttle took of, revved up and would not stop, i had to shut the engine off to keep it from going wild, cranked it and all was fine, well idle anyway, still runs bad

Similar thing happened to me. I was driving down the road and all of a sudden I hear a loud wooshing sound tehn i look in the mirror and realize that i am covering the entire road with smoke and an instant loss of power. I push the pedal and it stays at 60 but pours smoke. Taking off and running up to about 2500-2750 RPM's it rattle and popped and sputtered and ran horrible, but once i got to 5th gear it ran ok just with no power. When i got home i searched and found that one of my intercooler boots had come off and it was sucking way to much air! Not sure if thats your problem but sort of had the same symptoms and effects. Hope this helps.

okay, looked at intercooler boots this morning, Im assuming those are the hoses and boots connecting the turbo to the intercooler, and on the other side to the intake, all looks good, I dont see any holes or lose hoses, cranked it, ,runs fine for about 1 minute than starts messing up again

shop ran diagnostics and say they think the ECM s bad

The shop should be able to load a temporary update and tell you in a minute if it is the ECM, as the scan tool will show an interrupt on the checksum if it is a bad ECM.

The symptoms sound like rail pressure sensor or rail pressure regulator valve problem, both nickels and dimes compared to the ECM.

okay, the latest, as of friday, they are pretty sure its the valve cover gasket, wiring in it is bad, but cant get one until monday

latest update, truck at dodge dealership, only ones with the software, if it is a ECM problem, they say not ecm, have to change the injector wiring harness in the valve cover, 650 dollars, but not sure if that is all the problems, but cannot continue until it is replaced, needed go ahead, so I gave it, (warrenty isd gone), next call was monday morning, harness is changed, it was burnt up, also now, number 3 injector is burnt up, need to replace it, cost, another 900 dollars, need go ahead to get truck back to making money, gave it, tuesday morning, another injector, #5 is bad, burnt up, plus injector tubes, this will finish andf fix, the cause they give is my quadzilla box is the cause, it has raised the voltage, and amount of time injector is on, causing it to burn up, hence causing the wires on the harness to burn up, and nothing else could have possibly caused this other than that, have spoken to quad, their head service tech is suppose to call, and explain how that is nopt possible, I need convinceing before I put it back on, also, if this was the case I have never heard of this happening before with anyone, I have been running this box for over a year, so Im really not convinced on the box being the cause, okay guys, whats you input?
