Looking at used truck HELP PLEASE

I am looking at a 92, 250, Diesel. It has 138000+ miles showing, the cruse control and trip odometer don't work, I didn't notice the odometer. The speed does register. It has good power, starts easy, runs smooth, shifts solid under power. It had a 5th wheel. They are asking $3600.00. Is there anything I need to look at in particular on this model? Is it a first or second generation? It needs cosmetic work. Anything else I should know?

Thanks
Mike

Sounds like a good deal. Can't help much about things to watch out for. Have to wait for some of the first gen guys to chime in.

And welcome to dieseltruckresource!

It's a 1st gen, and the price is OK if it's a 2wd and a steal if it's a 4X4.

If the cosmetic problems include rust over the windshield - that's a big deal. They rust from the inside out up there.

The 1st gens get the road speed signal off the trans. The RWAL sensor in the diff has nothing to do with it, it's a totally separate system. If the speedo works, the problem is a broken gear in the odometer.

Thank to ALL who have answered.

Thank to ALL who have answered.

I tried to make an offer Saturday but they were closed. I'll try Tuesday.

This is the body style of truck I like.

Again THANKS.
