The only "plug" on the 12 valve filter housing you can take a reading from is small bolt thread, you would need an adaptor (TST $25) to pipe thread to use it .
Doesn't matter anyway, if the pump is ticking as you say it should be replaced no matter what the fuel pressure is. Drive it, but the pump should be replaced, the ticking you hear is the pump actuator arm pounding away against the cam, over time this can damage the cam.

The one way check valves are inside the pump and are not sold seperately that I know of. If you have an old pump you might be able to swap them out.

got er did, everything seems to be workin well, no more ticken, the lift pump was messed up, it almost looked like it was gettin bored out by the plunger, the end of the pipe were the plunger comes out was all beat up and outa round, but good news is the new one is in and ready to go, engine seems to be running smoother but i guess it could be my imagination, over flow valve is next on the agenda.

That is odd. Did you check the cam lobe for irregular wear?

The ticking and beat up arm is caused when the arm return spring gets weak or broken. The arm doesn't keep in contact with the cam the whole time, every time it recontacts the cam it ticks and beats things up a little more.
