KDP question

I am killing my kdp and my timing cover does not look like the ones in the pics in all the write ups. On mine the dowel is recessed and the cover is shaped in a way that would make the tab sit funny. The dowel is recessed like 3/8" in the cover and it looks smaller than the dowels in all the pics. Do I have some kind of revised timing cover.

Sounds like a 1st gen timing case.

Just take a center punch and punch a couple dimples into the KDP bore, that will keep it from walking out. All you need is a couple of burrs in the way to keep it from rattling through the hole.
