Just got a "check engine" light.

I cranked my truck today, and the light came on. This is the first time this has happened. It scanned a: P0238 = Map Sensor Voltage Too High (MAP sensor voltage input above the maximum acceptable voltage)

Do I replace the sensor, or could something else trigger the code? Do yall think its safe to drive it? I have to pull a 5000lb. load, 150mi. in the morning. My truck runs great, btw.

Thanks

I dont know if this matters, but since I installed my juice, I can hit 33-34lbs. boost easily. And I have not blocked my wastegate.

Agree, change the sensor. If the sensor is bad/bad, you will probably feel some power loss.

So the code means the sensor is bad?

Thats not what the code says. Seem like something wrong would trigger this code. And if so, I wonder what would make the sensor go "bad" just all of a sudden.

And I dont believe there any power loss, at least as far as I can tell. This thing runs! Has loads of power.

I wonder if its safe to drive/pull with, with this code.

Any idea what would have caused it to come on in the first place?

Might have just been a glitch or a computer brain fart. If the truck drives normally and doesn't feel like it's down on power then I wouldn't worry about it. I've got about 4 different codes in my computer and one's a MAP sensor code and my truck runs great. It mighta had something to do with your Juice but who knows. I'd say go and have the code cleared and not worry about it.

Would it being dirty make the voltage read too high?

I got the same code immediatly after programing the truck with a superchips for the first time, the second it finished programing the check engine light came on, codes p1695, and the p0238. so the p0238 means that the map sensor voltages is to high, but it can't be something mechanical becuase the truck wasn't even running. There was no check engine light before we programed it, so why sould a superchips cause this code, and how could it possibly be fixed. when the codes are cleared the check engine light just blinks off then on again.
