intermentant starter

My 97 auto truck will not turn over sometimes. I have checked the blue and yellow wire down to the bottom of the column. it is ok. When it doesn't spin i can start it at the relay under the hood. What am I missing between those 2 points?
Thanks

Simplest things aint it? I had a fraying belt whip right through the wires for my 4WD sensor! I was wondering why the light stopped working... its been off for a year and i just noticed it during the last oil change
