Installing my airdog

In the instructions it says to bypass the stock filter. By doing this i would loose my fuel heater correct? I live in a climate with some extreamly cold winters. How do i keep my fuel heater? Can i just remove the stock filter from the housing? and use it that way or what would be the best thing?

I have an 05, I bought a big line kit for my truck and ran mine through the filter housing for the heater, you can do it either way....
