it is the output shaft. the good news is you can fix it without pulling the whole trans just the ext housing. the bad news is you will need the tools to tear down the OD section. there is an 800 lbs spring that has to be compressed along with a lineup shaft to assemble. with your mods I would look at a billet shaft as a replacement

how expesnive is a stock shaft compared to a billet shaft money tight right now it hasn't been a month since i just threw down big money for the tc and vb. can i just take of the ext. housing and have a tranny shop do the rest or do alot of parts come flying out when i unbolt the housing?

thanks

Billet input shaft: $699, billet intermediate shaft: $689, billet output shaft: $750

I would be a bit concerned about the input shaft personally.

dont know how much a stock shaft cost's but you might chech with the bigger tranny guys like suncoast or gorends , they might have a used one from a build with billet shafts. I would think an honest shop would help you out. all you need to do is pull the ext housing. when you remove it watch for the thrust bearing and selective washer.DO NOT remove the piston in the rear of the case. J Body im with you but if he is not pulling the whole trans than it would be the time to make this upgrade. after it breaks the input or his pockets get a little deeper than fix the rest of it.

When you put it in park, does it hold the truck?
If it does, then the input shaft may be broke.
If it doesn't hold it most likely is the output shaft.
I sent a pm.
