Installed Plate

I installed my #100 fuel plate last night in the stock position and slid the AFC housing all the way forward. I did nothing to my wastegate and went for a test drive. I can make alot more smoke than before and getting deep in the throttle I can make about 21 psi boost where as before I could only get to about 17-18 psi. The truck seems to blow white and black smoke at the same time when I pound on it. I have read the discussions about blocking the wastegate or getting an elbow so I just need to make a decision. My question is, does all this sound normal and is the white/black smoke an indicator of something?

Oh yeah, with my foot to the floor in 4th locked, I only reached 1100 deg. When running about 50-55 MPH I can slam the throttle and it hooks up and goes. If my tranny was going to slip would it do it imediately after the plate install or does it take a while? Do I have room to play or should I just leave the plate in the stock position?

I personally like the plate in the stock position for all plates.
Your stock tranny will last a long time if you can avoid flooring it.
Good luck on that

The reason for the stock plate, afc and starwheel position is to limit smoke to meet emissions laws. It only makes sense if you alter it it will smoke more.
Your foot has now become the smog control device.

And Im learning that each time I drive it. As long as I stay out of it, it wont smoke and I can keep everything in check. So the purpose of the plate is to give me the power if I need, but I dont have to use it.
