This is driving me nutZ!!!!!!! I have a 01 3500 HO with 6spd. Love the animal!!! Third Cummins pwrd truck. About a week ago, went to start the truck, and it cranked, but no catch. turned the key off, hit again and it fired right off!? then i shut the truck off after driving it a while, ran into the store, came right out went to start it and she fired right off as she normally would. the it failed to start again a couple of days later while hot. No smoke, runs awesome. pulled the codes with a friends superchips tuner, got the 1693 and the 0216. Only have 67k on my '01. Any suggestions?

The P0216 is the code that is your problem. It is your VP-44's last gasp. Call a dealer that you trust
and schedule an appointment. You need a new injection pump. You should also have a fuel pressure guage on your truck. Chances are the lift pump failed and took your VP along for the ride............... Make sure the dealer checks the LP.
