I took it off road......whoops!

O.k…..so I took her off road….see “My Pics” to assess the mud…………

Two weeks later, 5 trips to the car wash, a hundred .25s later I still have a terrible squeak…………

So I see that the front springs still have mud packed in them, I spray them down again, soak every possible joint, bushing etc. with silicon spray and drive off from the car wash……….now it sounds (the squeak) worse than ever….hit a small bump, and it sounds like the brake pad wear sensors (Squeak, Squeak Squeak) but the brakes are fine…………next I am coasting down a hill and kill the engine in “N” …yes “something” is squeaking…..front wheel bearings? Maybe….I thought they were sealed……..it is enough to drive me ……….

A. Nuts trying to figure it out.

B. Straight to Dodge and say………..something squeaks!!!!!!!! I have 5k left on my warranty…..FIX IT!

Every once in a while I will get a small rock caught betwwen the pad and the rotor. I have never had one work its way out. When going thru wet sand or mud I try to keep the brakes applied just a bit to help keep the junk out.

Good luck this type of thing makes me want to ride the Huffy Davidson again.

Im in the exact same situation you are. Cleaned off almost all the mud from under the truck and Im still getting a squeak.

Never really considered the wheelbearings since the squeak sounds like the shifter linkage noise I had before.

Crap . I still have warranty left but really dont want to take it to a dealer.

anyone else experience this?

I guess the 1000K $ questions are .....(and thanx for everybodies replies.....sorry for the urinal attitude).....

1. If I get muddy and spray the truck and belly down....could I wash my front bearings dry??????? I have sprayed the rotors etc. about 5x now............

2. Will my Bumper to Bumper warranty cover "washing the truck" in the event that something has been degreased?

I've had the same problem with my rig before. Sounds like something in the brakes. I usually goes away.

you do have u-joints in the front axle also from transaxle to front diff I had squeak in front end in both my 95 ctd and 2001 1500 gasser and it was u joint in the front axle right behind the spindle assembly or behind rotor and bearing on front shaft. good luck

Check the dust shield on the front rotors. I have had one that appeared fine. Jacked it up and no noise when spun by hand. Noise was slightly worse while making a turn. Tweeked it away from the rotor and it stopped.

I've had a squeek in my front end for a long time now. I have never been able to figure out where it is. Only thing that helped was when I sprayed the steering shaft INSIDE the truck with silicone. That helped solve it temporarily. I took it to Dodge but they blamed it on my leveling kit and wouldn't fix it under warranty.

For my two cents I'd check the brakes for material caught in them, the dust shield as james said above, or possibly the front pinion. If sand/mud gets in there before the seal, it makes a sort of high frequency repeated squeek. A shot of lithium grease in the area will solve it if that's the problem. This happens on jeep dana 35's constantly, and may be the problem on your truck.

Good luck with it.

Glad to see someone else who gets their truck very dirty, my little boy loves to 4 wheel. Most guys I see don't know how to put it in 4 wheel drive.
