How do I jump the starter relay on '93 auto

Truck wont start, need to know which wires to jump to test the starter relay. When I try to start the truck it does nothing, no click or anything. battery is strong enough to run headlights etc. so I don't think thats the problem. I've tried jiggling the gearshift (auto trans) thinking it may be the neutral/park safety switch which didnt work.

any help is appreciated.

Try just jumping it at the starter. A screw driver or something metal - jump the little terminal to the big terminal and make sure that the starter is capable of working. I usually try that first , then work backwards from there checking wiring and relays ect.

Yeah, I jumped the starter and it works, so I think its relay, neutral safetry switch or ignition switch.

I tried jumpering the switch down on the drivers side of the trans in all the combos I could and it didnt work but I'm not even sure if this is the NSS.

What I'm not sure of is how you jump the relays since there are 2 of them with 2 large connections each and 2 small connector each. The only reaction I could get is when I jumpered the farthest back small connector to the pos. terminal of the battery. When I did this it sounded like the relay closed but the starter didnt run.

Those aren't starter relays, they are for the intake heater grids. The starter relay is the rearmost of the 3 small relays mounted on the driver's fender. Try swapping with one of the other relays since you've tried jumping the NSS already.

Of those 3 relays, on my truck, the middle one is slightly different than the other 2. It has 5 prongs instead of 4 like the other 2. I searched and read in another thread from last year that the middle one is the starter relay, so now I'm confused. Plus, when I look on auto parts websites the part they show as the starter relay looks nothing like the ones I'm looking at on the inner fender. The one they show is a cylinder and looks to have only 3 prongs.

I ended up looking closely at the starter relay and some of the leads/prongs were fairly dirty. I used a little sandpaper to clean em up, put it back in and the truck started right up.
