HIGH EGT at idle, just left for road trip

I loaded up my stuff to take a short trip and noticed at idle, that my EGTs were 600* at a 850/900 RPM idle, usually 275-300* I was just sitting there idleing and it wouldn't go down. I opened hood and didn't see any thing apparanlty wrong, manifold didn't feel real hot either. I got back in and they were down to 300.
Faulty gauge?
Is this fuel related?
Turbo on its way out?
I'm going to change my BHAF also.

Tap on gauge .

I just got back from 650 mile trip to drop off tractor, truck did fine,
Must have been bad connection/gauge. Pulled great, 70-75mph, hit 30# boost going up hills, pulling International 806 diesel and 32' Flatbed GN trailer.
EGT stayed between 600-950.(probe pre-turbo)
I have temp gun at work, i'll have it handy.
I'll keep watching, just incase some thing is wrong.
Thanks
