HELP! BLOWN NV5600 or just broke?

This happened while I was driving down the highway at 70 on a 350 mile trip back to lubbock from Dallas. I guess while I was caught in a 2 hour traffic jam getting out of Dallas one of my seals went out or something and started leaking all my transmission fluid but I didn't know it. About 300 miles down the road my truck lurches, theres a metal on metal screeching and then I can tell something blew. Steering wheel locked up and the stick would not move anywhere. I got off to the shoulder and the truck died. The truck will start and run but as soon as I let out on the clutch its like its trying to take off in 6th gear and kills it. When I got out to check what was going on the entire undercarriage of my truck was covered in transmission fluid. I don't know if this means my tranny is blown or just locked up. If you guys have any insight on what you think the problem is let me know. I'd really appreciate it. Hopefully its not blown and can just be fixed but I haven't gotten any feedback from anyone on the forum so I dunno. I'm looking into buying a new one right now. If any of yall know who to call to look into buying a new one please let me know. I'm really sick of being stuck on my motorcycle haha

due to parts availability and the cost of those parts you would be getting a reman.....if you can still find them.

Was the transmission fluid red? If so that would be the transfer case and you may be luckier than it being the 56 box.

No I've already confirmed the transfer case is perfectly fine. The fluid definitely came out of the main tranny

I had to spend over $3500 on mine when it needed rebuilt, but that was when they were extremely hard to find.

You might want to drain whatever oil is left in it and pull the two PTO block off plates and see what you can see. There is a little square magnet in the bottom of the case that you could also reach in and get to see what's on it, and you could feel around to see if there are any chunks in there.

I had a transmission lock up like that once. It had broken a tooth off the gear on the input shaft, which jammed between that gear and the countershaft gearset.
