the sensor on the clutch shaft.is that the switch i need to replace??????

 

Do you have access to a wiring diagram ?
So you can follow that circut to each of the components to see where the power dose not go through .
Maybe some one here can link you to one , use a high lighter pen on the wiring diagram to follow the wire from starter back to ing. , then with a test lite check for + on both sides of every thing that circut/wire-color , when you find where its not going through then you've found the offending part .

Here's something you can try (and I am not saying it is a good idea!) But if you unplug the electrical clip on the sensor. I think there is about 4 inches of wire. Is there any way you can bridge the connection to see if you can "fake the clutch being depressed?" I would hate to have you buy a new sensor and I am wrong about this. I would try to test it as much as you can to isolate the problem. Have you tested it yet?

What I am suggesting is creating a dummy plug or something.

Also do a search for Clutch switch or something like that and see if this topic has come up before. I have been trying to find more info...if I do I'll let you know.

I Have Not Tried To Unplug Of Test The Sensor Yet. I Will Try Tomorrow. I Know What You Are Getting At. I Was Wondering If There Is A Part # Just To See About The $$$$.

 

I don't know about a part number...sorry. I did find a post though where a guy with a 2001 got fed up with the clutch switch and bypassed the clutch switch and installed a manual switch. So I guess it is safe to jumper the circuit. At least you could find out for sure if it is the problem.
