Having problems with my shifting

Have a 2003 6 speed and when i take it up 2500 rpms and go to shift it increases the rmps to 3000 as if i hit the accelerator.......but pedel is not being touched...........not sure what is causing that any ideas out there

Get the truck scanned with the Dodge proprietary code reader. What you are having happen is an electrical feedback from either the brake circuit or from the cruise control relay that is creating a momentary fuel surge. Most frequently that occurs when the ECM has been shorted or is beginning to fail. It is a big dollar dealer fix, so you may just want the dealer to scan and confirm the trouble, and then obtain the parts yourself if the truck is off the warranty.
