Got stuck in the mud...Now I'm blowin blue !!

Gotta love winter So I try to make it back up to the house from the barn after it's been snowin for awhile. Anyway I get stuck in the mud on a lil bump. I know that if I get over the bump I am home free. I was in 3rd gear and just held it down as I inched forward. Unfortunately my egt guage is not working. Anyway, I figured it was hot so I let it idle for a while. When I got out of the truck there was blue smokecomin out of the stacks pretty bad. It seems to have died down a little, but if I rev the truck there is a different sound at the bottom of the rpm through the exhaust. sounds to me like turbo. Drives fine as much as I can tell, just the oil and the different sound. The turbo SEEMS to sound the same at boost, but I only drove it 2 miles to cool it down.
What should I look at ?

My first step would be look at the air filter and air intakes. If they're mudded up and restricted, you'll blow a bit more smoke than normal. Honestly, if you didn't over-rev the engine, what you described shouldn't have harmed anything. EGT's shouldn't have been high either as that's usually a combination of low RPM and heavy throttle. If you had airflow and no load (spinning tires isn't much load), you shouldn't have been hot.

No mud on the front of the truck. I did over rev the engine a bit and there was some load on it as it was sticky mud I was in. Couldn't get 4th gear out of it.

By over-revving, are we talking factory red line on the tach? Or topping 34-3500rpm? Even thne, I cant see you doing much damage to the engine. Keep an eye on it and see what gives. Blue smoke makes me think fuel system. I guess you could have blown a turbo seal and be ingestiing oil that way, but that doesnt really account for the blue smoke. Could timing have slipped on a high RPM stint?

The air intake hole is actually above the passenger front tire, and it usually gets caked with dirt just in normal driving. If you were slinging mud, it's definitely got some there, just how much? Even with a bit of a load from sticky mud, it shouldn't have been enough to get high EGTs, especially if you were at high RPM.

If the timing slipped, there's probably gear damage, and that will likely only get worse. I really can't see that happening unless there was a sudden change of RPM, either up or down, but it's possible. If you were at sustained RPM for a really long time, it might have built enough coolant pressure to pop the head gasket, and that might suck a bit of oil. I'd suggest driving it for a day, see if it runs like it should, and then check the oil and coolant for signs of contamination. If they're milky, you know it's probably a head gasket. If the oil is low and the coolant is okay, you can start checking seals.

If you over revved and have a GSK without 60 lb valve springs you may have floated a valve and ingested a bunch of oil in the intake.
Probably no permanent damage but might take a while for the smoke to clear.

Check your drip tube as well. i've heard of those getting plugged and the crack case can't vent so oil gets pushed into places it shouldn't be.

As for mud in the intake. Nope, none I have a cone style filter on it and it's clean. I really HOPE that the oil in the intake thing is it, BUT that would not explain the noise I am hearing at the bottom of the rpm just after revving it.

I just opened the hood and revved the engine by way of the accelerator cable. I put my hand on the turbo and it defiantely has vibration on the way down from a rev.

Pull the intake air hose and check turbo impeller shaft(engine not running) for rubbing against housing. End play and side play should be minimal and not hit the housing or have scrub marks on housing. Stillleaves possibility of turbo shaft seal. Drop exhaust pipe and inspect for obvious oil in housing and pipe. The overreving may have not been good ideal.
