I got all new parts for the speedo sender including the yellow gear, housing that goes into the trany, speed sensor. I could not find a new 90* piece that comes off and connects to the speed sensor. My question is do I need the 90* piece? Is it a gear reduction of some sort or 1/1? I'd rather mount the speed sensor to the trany.

Yes, it's a reduction gearbox. The speedo will be way off without it.
