G-56 transmission noise

Back to the same problem again! Not only am hearing a noise in the transmission like a mainshaft turning when the truck is cold with the clutch pedal up(not depressed), but now I am getting more engine noise inside the truck while driving down the road( such as fuel knock and normal noises you would hear while standing outside the vehicle).. Does anybody know if there is some kind of noise insulator under the shift boot that could be defective causing this problem? The fluid in the transmission was changed at 60,000 miles and there was no metal on the drain plug magnet.. I thought I was having transmission problems until I was driving home tonight and realized there is more engine noise getting in the cab also and was wondering if there is some kind of noise insulator that might be defective? Thanks Dave....

There is another seal that seals to the floor. My floor got pushed up slightly causing the seal to have a small gap. The dealer couldn't find it under warranty so I took it apart. The gap was no more than 1/8 inch but what a difference in noise. I straightened the floor and reinstalled the seal with a little silicon. It's been perfect ever since.
