fuel pump relay
mine was located on driverside fender between the battery and the hood strut there is also a fuse from that battery to that relay if this is one that has been fitted with a warranty pump in the tank they also make a splice under the truck our dealer was an idiot and didnt seal the splice and it corroded apart so you might check it too hope this helps
Unable to locate any relay, but did check the voltage at pump( on the side of the filter canister), disconnected plug and am getting 8.25 volts with the key on. Should there be 12 volts here or is this an indication of some other problem?
What is the battery voltage? Lift pump voltage should be very close to actual battery voltage. If the intake grid heater is running, that could be drawing the batteries down, that, and they may have cranked on it a bit trying to get it running. Sounds like a dead lift pump. I'm guessing it is the filter mounted pump?
Yes, it is the filter mounted pump. It was running, stalled several times then just died. He tried cranking several times, so the battery voltage could be down. I'll have him check the battery voltage to see if that is reduced as well. Thanks. Truck has under 100,000 miles do you know if it is covered under warrantee?
I think it would be warrantied. Some people on here have had them done for free, others say they paid a $100 deductible. If I was paying a deductible, I'd put the money towards a GDP lift pump set up myself. Just my opinion!
