Fuel problem

Hello!

A problem with my Dodge RAM has!

Vehicle specifications:

Dodge RAM

Year of construction 2004

325PS 5,9l Diesel

105000 miles

The vehicle goes out under full load, gasoline filters was already renewed and if one makes the filter on, after which it stand remained, is there nearly no more Diesel in it. In partial load and no-load operation is there no problems!

My question:

Did that have someone from you already times?

Can't it be that the small fuel pump any longer enough from the tank promotes?

Does the Dodge have still another filter or so in the back in the tank at the float?

English is not so good!

I would guess to check your lift pump. If I'm understanding you correctly, when you changed the fuel filter the canister wasn't full and you only experience this with a full load. Sounds like your lift pump (small fuel pump that supplies the injector pump) is going bad. Sorry can't be more help, as I'm not too familiar with the 3rd Gen Common Rail motor.

Yes, that is the most likely problem.

There is a screen around the pump in the fuel tank.

Your English is better than my Italian.

Hi there, the fuel pump sells for about $280 US, which I think converts to about 219 euros. Not sure about the labor in replacing it, but I found it at www.mymoparparts.com. Good luck!

Hello!
So now dealer wants to suddenly have 500 Euro here with us only for the pump. He says that it the small pump those in front any longer does not give, since there were many problems with. Now there is something else and that the pump directly in the back in the tank sits and the part is 500 Euro to cost.
Is the realistic this price?
It with us in Germany here is more expensive, is already times clear!
Already times someone built such a part over, and can about it which say!

Thanks!

As above, the fuel filter is the current mounting place for the original pump which is no longer available. The replacement is an in the tank pump which requires some modifications to the system, re-wiring from the original pump to the now rear mounted pump and removal of all parts on the filter canister plus dropping the tank to mount the pump inside of the tank. Not sure of cost but knowing Dodge sounds about right. Do you have a Cummihs dealer anywhere near you that you might check to see what they have available, maybe a same type of pump to replace yours. Just don't run as is for too long as you can damage the injector (CP3) pump and it's much more to replace, pump is in the range of $2500 US new.
