Fuel leak

I got home today and my truck has a diesel leak at the bottom of the fuel filter. It seems to be coming from the drain fitting on the bottom of the filter. A spontaneous leak. Changed the filter about 2 months ago with no leaks but have one now. Tried to drain a little fuel by pushing up on the water drain thinking it might have something in it. I have not touched anything for about 2 months. Any ideas about the spontaneous leak?

Try exercising the drain valve.
They have been know to stick open a little, or vibrate open a bit.

Re:Fuel leak

I suggest that the leak might be from one of the rubber fuel lines, and appear to be from the filter.
Something to check.

Re:Fuel leak

Just to finish off the answer to my fuel leak at the fuel filter I bought a new sensor/drain from Dodge at the cost of $50.00 ??? Removed filter and installed new valve/sensor and the leak was worse. Did that about 3 times getting cut by the clamps on the boost hose and then bought a new filter and changed that, (the old one was 3 month's old, a NAPA filter), the leak was the threaded portion at the bottom of the filter. So now have 2 drain valves and a new filter (also from NAPA) and no leaks.
