Fuel gage

The fuel gage on my truck is stuck to full. This is the 6th time it's happened. The only garage that will look into it is the Chrysler dealer. It's a 1999 three quarter diesel. Has anyone had this happen to them? The dealer surprisingly has been quite good and fair but still the gage sticks on full. Help

My guess would be the sending unit is bad. mine went bad shortly after I bought my truck. I went to the dealer and they had one iin stock for $56. They said it was normal, and I think they said it was an updated part. So I got it and installed it been fine since(about 5 years now).

mine is stuck on empty.
;(

I just go by miles.
But if i could get it installed for under $150 It'd be worth it to me.

I had my sending unit go bad also. It is a easy fix, just takes time. You can either drop your tank or lift the bed. I dropped the tank because I have stuff in the box.

Do you fill up with the BIG hose at the truckstop?

Didn't use quick fill hose, just a regular hose. Actually they are taking me in tomorrow at 8:30.....I'll let you know the results.

Fuel gage

Had the dealer repair the fuel gage today...Here's what he did...
Install in tank transfer pump kit which included the sending unit. To install they had to remove and drain the fuel tank...Total cost $871.96. One year warranty on parts and labor.

That's it, sure feel a little lighter in the pocket book

That sucks! I would not have let them install the intank transfer pump. Those pumps aren't any better then the pumps on them now. You could have just done the replacement yourself for $50
