Front end pop at what ever speed
Well i just got a 2000 dodge 3/4 ton. Cummins and it has a dana 60 front and a 80 rear w/ 3:55 gears. 5spd and load x cab. first truck that has all the options. but i just had to have the track bar replaced and the ball joints, before i had those changed the front end had not pop in it. i now can feel it in the floor board but unable to tell where it is comeing from. wondering if anyone has had the same problem and what they have dont to correct it i have tried everything i could think of but unable to come up with the right answer to correct the problem. All help is apreasated or something like that
it does it at 3 places when turing , pass side stop, drivers side stop, and in the middle when going from left to right or right to left

If you just had the track bar and ball joints replaced, check the torque on the locating link bolts on the bars that attach the front axle. Someone may have done an alignment and left one or more loose.
If those bolts are tight, check the trunions at the ends of the front axle. That requires jacking the rig up to get both front wheels off the ground, then turning the wheels all the way to the lock and then rolling one tire then the other. If you hear a clicking, follow it to the loose joint.
Last place to check is the front coil spring seats on the frame. If a truck was subjected to hard use with a heavy trailer or on rough ground those seats can crack. They are pretty easy to weld up if that has happened. If you find that is the problem, check with your Dodge dealer and make sure it is not still covered under the hidden warranty that was issued on that particular problem.

well i checked the track bar it tight i still have not got it up in the air to check it out but so far it has quit doing it at the stops and is only doing it close to center turn to right and bringing it back. so i am about lost on it, and it does it when i hit a dip in one road. you can hear it. i think i may take it up to dodge and ask someone who has worked there a while
have u checked ur steering shaft? it can make popping noises...bearing wears out..etc....what about ur front axle u-joint? and check to see if u dont have a tie-rod end thats destroyed...or a loose bolt?

well i got under it last saturday and put a torque bar on it and went to 150 to 160 ft.lbs on the track bar that got rid of the pop not i have a pop in the stearing shaft and dont want to return to center. i got stuck out in the field and washed it up but i think it may be the stearing box now or the P/S pump
