Front Dif Gasket

I just pulled off the front dif cover on my '03 2500 HO 4WD to change the oil. I didn't expect a gasket, I thought it would be permatex. What is your advice? Use Permatex ( I have some ), wait for a gasket (there goes my commuter) or what?

Old gasket looks in good shape, insides of dif looks good, very little metal on magnet.

Thanks in advance.

If there was a gasket on, then I would replace it with another gasket especially if you are still under warranty. Just my .02

I did a quick TDR search (would have done this earlier if panic wasn't in the way), looks like they (front and rear rubber gaskets) are reusable. I'll go slap it back together and keep an eye on it.

Thanks for your quick responses.

Yes, they are designed to be reuseable.

Careful when you bolt things back together, several people have started threads about broken off bolts...
