I noticed a spot on the concrete that looked like an oil leak but turns out it's coolant, I looked for major damage hoses clamps etc. couldn't find anything wrong, no cracks in the block but I did notice what looked like a drain plug in the front of the block, it looks like its coming from there, I can reach it from underneath and it looked like it has a rachet input but it's plastic, I'm positive it's coolan cuz I'm **** near out, Haven't noticed ne white smoke coming out of the truck but it's parked until I can figure this one out. Ne help would be awesome, truck runs fine sounds good and hasn't overheated I have close to 60k on her so she's still in good shape. thanks.

you sure its not a seep from your water pump

 

On my 06 I get some drops every so often coming from my bell housing, what could that be from? I thought it might be ATF from the trans but looks and feels like pink anti-freeze, has any one heard or seen this before. Thanks

 

06's are famous for leaking coolant off the bellhousing, and the cure is to tighten the two clamps on on a hose down by the turbo. The hose is like 5/8 or so diameter, around 8" long, and has kind of a foil rap.

I think it is a seep from the pump in the hole there I am gonna pull off the belt and try and get a better look in there, but I am pretty sure that is the problem now that other plug is on the timing cover up by the power steering reservoir, it's coming from over by the water pump so I am going to check it out.

 

I bet yours is the pump seal. Coolant can get blown everywhere.

 

I have an 06 also and had the hose leak issue (heater hose I think just tightened it up myself). A couple months later the water bump started leaking, bad water pump. With only 60k on it I would let the dealer deal with this one.

 

yep pulled the pump off today it was the seal and only the seal thanks for the help guys a fix for less than 5 bucks. BTW our water pumps seem to range from $40-$48 give or take tax and change but not bad for a brand new water pump gotta love cummins' simplicity.
