Cincy needs help
Noticed this morning the truck had some hestitation when I started it but smoothed out after about 30 seconds. Truck ran fine all the way to work today and now she wont start at all.. I'm thinking LP but I'm getting a P-0482 code (fan speed)? Also, getting a 0113?
I drained the fuel filter completely and cycled the ingnition a few times and the filter housing filled back up. So maybe not the LP? Anyone have any ideas? Truck has original LP (in the tank) at 125,000 miles

We'll I got the truck to start. Once it ran for a minute or two everything seems to be fine. I shut the truck back off and she restarted just fine. I'm thinking that maybe something is happening after she sits for awhile. Hince the reason it didn't want to start this morning. I'm going to try the fuel filter.. The BHAF was replaced about 10,000 miles ago. Again, still haven't heard the LP come on all those times I tried to bump the engine. I think the CP3 was drawing the fuel into the filter housing. Still no LP code though
Well, the 3rd gen trucks are not supposed to run if the LP dies but I read a recent post where a guy had his go and the truck would run but only at about half power. The crazy thing is that a stock truck would run just fine on the CP3 alone without the help of an LP....
If you can't hear that LP running then I'd say you have probably already found your problem. Try checking all the connections on top of the fuel tank. Maybe a rock flew up there and knocked something loose...

I left the truck at work and took home a spare. I'm going to try replacing the filter tomorrow. I did just fill up after letting the tank get lower than I should
It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

I have always heard my lift pump when it cycles. Of course can't hear it once the engine starts.
If you don't have a FP gauge, is there any way you can add one temporarily? My guess is that you LP has died after all those miles. The symptoms fit. As I often go into fairly remote places, I was always worried about the weak link LP so as you can see from my sig I removed it and replaced it with something decent.
With those symptoms there is also the possibility that the CP3 is about to die, but it is hard to say for sure. I would start by changing the LP or doing a pump mod.
MY CP3 did fail once and when it did it was a sudden failure. I had no prior warning. I had started the truck and drove off and got it up to third gear when the engine just died as tho I had turned the switch off. After that it would not even fire once when I cranked it. Long saga about that problem, the so called 5 star dealer etc. Ended up by taking a tow truck to the dealer, removing my truck, taking it home and installing a new CPS myself. I was mad enough to chew nails and spit rust!

Looks like I got some bad fuel.. Should have know better considering the BP I stopped at appeared to be digging up their tanks. Anyways, I drained the fuel canister and replaced the filter. I then refilled the canister with new fuel that I just purchased, mixed with a little Power Service. Cycled the ingnition about 3 times and she fired right up.. I'm gonna go fill up with the newer diesel and dump the rest of the PS in the tank.
Next item on the list: Quad, rail and fuel pressure guage..
