My engine sounds like its roaring when going down the road at any speed, rpms dont move just hear the roaring sound. I also have dead petal sometimes and just had the lift pump replaced because of a 0216 code, after it was replaced it still makes the roaring sound a 0500, 0216 and 1693 code come up. Is my VP44 dead? And is that what is making the noise?

when the cooling fan is engaged it will make a roaring noise. i wonder if somthing is making it stay engaged all the time...

 

Does it clatter? The roaring could be the fan working. What is your engine temp? Has it been high recently?

 

code 0500 is Vehicle speed sensor, 0216 is Fuel injection pump timing failure - replacing a lift pump will not fix this problem, 1693 just means code in companion module - one computer says the other has a code - which is the 0500 and 0216 codes. The noise does sound like your fan clutch is stuck engaged - try & turn the fan - it should spin (with the engine off of course )

 

Fan spins great, I guess when I said roaring you would think the fan, but it really sounds like a groaning sound and it is constantly on off on off.
