engine dies when put into gear

I love it. When I bought it I got it for the guages, but it was only 1 day and I had the pump tapped. Wow. what a difference.

I think after I save a little that will be the next purchase. I got the hypertech programer back in 2002 mainly do to the fact of warranty on truck and it would read codes or so they said it would. Also did not think I needed to much but after seeing the difference it made I got sucked in to wanting more power. Mine is going in Thursday and i'm looking forward to see the difference with the new pump and added power from new injectors

I have a 2001 3500 with the same exact problems as described in this thread. I spoke to the local transmission guru (Dodges are his specialty) and he said that its a classic case of a torque converter shelling out.

A dying torque converter will NOT give you a P0216 code.

Already had a new pumps installed (tank, lift and injector) and no codes present.

torque converter shelled out and took the transmission with it. The converter was trying to engage at idle. not good. $4K later we should have a truck again.
