Easy injector/pump access? Fuel everywhere

I was driving yesterday and smelled fuel so pulled it over, popped the hood and fuel was going everywhere; probably the **** connections to the pump- but how the heck can I get to the **** thing to tighten everything up and/or install new washers???????

If you get a chance fill out your signature so we know what gen. truck you have. I would be willing to bet you have a broken fuel line, if you have a 03 to early 07 it's more than likely #4, earlier years it could be any of them, normally when they break it's right where they connect to the head and pretty easy to spot.

The truck is a '93.

A crow's foot wrench will get the inlet fitting, that is a flare connection. There's an adapter underneath it that uses a washer, but both these places rarely leak unless disturbed.

The return fitting takes a 17 mm box wrench, there is room to slip it in there. Again, not likely to leak unless you've been messing with it. It does use crush washers.

It's more likely that the pump has sprung a leak from the timing piston cover, it's just an o-ring that needs to be replaced. Unfortunately you have to pull the pump to do it.

For better access to that side of the engine, I will often unbolt the throttle bracketry and swing it down out of the way. 2 nuts, one bolt.
